Be a Volunteer

If you love animals and are age 17 or over we need you! Volunteers are the heart of Friends of Strays.

Volunteers are needed to:

answer phones and help with office tasks
take care of and play with the animals
assist in the Pet Adoption Center or Thrift Shoppe

Be a Foster Home

We especially need Foster Homes during kitten season. If you are interested in becoming a Foster Home, please download and fill out the Foster Application
or please contact Margo, our Foster Home Coordinator at 727-522-6566.

Koins for Kitties – Kids love this one!

Collect your pennies, nickels, dimes & quarters in a coffee can, jar, or other container and bring it to Friends of Strays daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Checks are also appreciated if you wish to mail the donation instead. Please mark your check “Koins for Kitties”.

Host a Gift Drive for the Animals

Hosting a gift drive from our Wish List to collect much-needed supplies for the animals is a fun way to help the Pet Adoption Shelter and introduce us to your co-workers, friends, and classrooms.

Birthday Party Gift Drive

Many people enjoy helping this way…and you’d be surprised how many kids like to do this also. Inform your party guests that instead of presents, you’d prefer them to bring a gift for the animals. Provide them with the Friends of Strays Wish List or have them go to www.friendsofstrays.com to view the Wish List.

Host a Benefit Event

Whether it's proceeds from a garage sale, or any other special event, we thank you for helping the animals! If you are planning an event to benefit Friends of Strays, please let us know and we will do what we can to support you.
