Adult Cats $30.00 (Over 10 Months)

Kittens $45.00 (10 Months and Under)

Dogs/Puppies $65.00 + $4 tag fee

Pet Adoption is a major decision; we encourage you to discuss this with all family members before moving forward. Having a pet in the home can effect many things, such as your schedule, human allergies, lifestyle, etc. Most important, can you commit to caring for an animal for its entire lifetime? Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, providing food, shelter, medical treatment and love for the lifetime of the animal.
Do you have the time and the resources to care for your new pet properly should it become injured or sick one day? We must be confident that each of our little ones is going to a home where all responsibilities to the pet will be met, lovingly and in a timely manner.

Complete our pet adoption questionnaire
Home inspection for all dogs and puppies (we may also require a home inspection for cats)

Kittens $45.00 plus $4 cardboard cat carrier (unless you provide one) (REGULAR PRICE)

Cats $30.00 plus $4.00 carrier fee (unless you provide one) (REGULAR PRICE)

Dogs and Puppies $65.00 plus $4 collar and tag fee ) (Year Around Price)

About our Animal Adoption Center

Friends of Strays was founded in 1978 by four compassionate women to provide temporary care, shelter and sterilization to stray animals. These animals were housed in foster homes until 1992 when Friends of Strays opened its present shelter on 47th Avenue North, St. Petersburg. Its medical facility, where all adopted pets are spayed or neutered and emergency care is provided, was completed in 1994.

Friends of Strays is committed to ongoing public education programs on the importance of responsible pet ownership and spaying/neutering pets.
Volunteers are the heart of our organization. Many work in the office, the Pet Adoption Center and in the kennels while others foster sick or injured animals or abandoned puppies and kittens in their homes. Many animals who are adopted owe their lives to our Volunteers. We deeply appreciate all our Volunteers' efforts on behalf of our stray animals.

With our great location, our Pet Adoption Center lets pet lovers interact with lovable furry friends. Animal Adoption hours are 10-3:00 Tuesday - Sunday at our Shelter at 2911-47th Avenue North, St Petersburg.
